The Orlando club Alemannia Aixpress moved up to the Premier League level of the CFSL in fall of 2006. In the same season, the League Cup was won. The club also features an "Over 30" team, which currently participates in the second highest O30 division of the CFSL, "O30 A" and strives to advance to "O30 Premier".
The team is named after the most formidable german soccer club Alemannia Aachen, www.alemannia-aachen.de. Alemannia Aachen advanced in 2006 for a year to the Bundesliga after long 36 years in the second league, played in the German Cup Final against Werder Bremmen and advanced several rounds in the UEFA Cup.
The "Aixpress" part of the team name is derived from and inspired by the French name of the German city Aachen, which is "Aix la Chapelle", translated "Fountain at the Chapel". Aachen once was the capital of the Franconian Empire, encompassing roughly today´s Germany and France, around 800-900 AD, and as such the seat of imperial power of Karl the Great (Charlemagne) and his successors.
