Spring 2005 Open Age
In Alemannia´s second season in the Central Florida Soccer League, the team had improved its roster on several positions. Hopes were high before the season started. After two games, the record was one win and one loss. In the third game of the season however, FK Panteri exposed Alemannia´s weaknesses and virtually overran Alemannia for a 9:1 loss. In the next game against Brazil Nuts, a thoroughly frustrated and confused Alemannia team got clobbered again, 9:2. It was obvious that changes were necessary. The team hired a new coach, Tom Webb. He came with the reputation of several successful coaching positions at various colleges in Florida. Also, two player acquisitions aimed at improving scoring and midfield position. Charles Octonel and Thor Adalsteinsson exceeded the teams expectations in the next weeks. Coach Webb emphasized strict tactical dicipline and indicivual speed and fitness. The team responded with convincing wins in the next games and finished the season in fourth place. Usually, only the two top teams in the standings at the end of a season move up to the next level. But due to league rearrangements, the top four teams in Division II A were to move up and the team was relegated to Divison I B.
